No Noise Campaign at Selfridges

I have been watching the new ITV period drama 'Mr Selfridge', (and turned slighly obsessed with it!) The drama tells the story of Harry Gordan Selfridge, the founder of Selfridges department store! The ITV series has brought the store a gigantic amount of attention, with a whooping total of 7.2 million viewers watching! So the new Selfridges campaign could not of come at a better time!

Selfridges have created the No Noise campaign in attempt to lower the non-stop noise that Londoner’s experience every day. When I live at home, I am one of those busy Londoner's who seem to run from place to place, always in a rush! So I can say without any hesitance that this new campaign is perfect for people like me!

The store have designed a Silence Room, an extremely clever way which will help their customers relax. I think most people can agree that this is one hundred percent needed after Christmas. Although I love Christmas and cliche as it sounds, wish it could be Christmas everyday, it really can be stressful buying everyone presents!

Annette Cremin, spokeswoman for Selfridges said: “It is a chance to turn the volume down on London. It is an experiment to see how people react when they are taken away from their gadgets and forced to be silent.”

As part of the No Noise Campaign, Selfridges have decided to drop their name from the iconic yellow shopping bags, as well as some of its high-profile brands. The store will continue to do this until around the end of March ! Some brands who have removed their logos from products are Beats by Dr Dre, Creme de La Mer skincare, Levi's jeans and Marmite. I LOVE the Marmite and beans can!

Here are some amazing pictures that show the new No Noise Campaign window displays. The windows give an immediate image, showing exactly what the meaning of the campaign is! I love how each displays scream out to the busy shoppers - STOP, come in and relax! Have a look...

Creating costumes for Celebrity Big Brother 2013

I don't know if you are Big Brother fans but I am proud to say that it is without a doubt the best way to end my day! I know that after a hard day of uni, all I will want to do is sit in front of the TV, with a cup of tea in one hand and a galaxy chocolate bar in the other, and watch the 24 hour highlights of the Big Brother house. Not only that, my sister is a fantastic Researcher for Endemol Productions (who produce Big Brother), which means she is one of the highly creative people who make our nights fun by setting up the funny tasks for the contestants. So if I don't watch it - I will get a major telling off from her!

On the launch night the hilarious Xfactor star Rylan Clark and jockey Frankie Dettori decided which housemates should live in luxury in the main house, whilst sending the remaining celebrities down to the dreaded basement!
I extremely enjoyed watching this as I was lucky enough to help my sister create the costumes for the basement! It was a lot of fun to be able to help with this and I found myself becoming extremely jealous of my sister's day to day job!
To make each costume suitable for the basement, my sister and I distressed and aged each garment, by dusting them, ripping them and covering them with webs! The outcome was amazing!! I have posted the clothes underneath so you can see what we created!

Here are pictures of the basement! I'm glad I'm not spending a night in there!
