Spring/ Summer 2013 Trends

Time is flying by quickly and before I know it I will have graduated from Birmingham City University. I have thoroughly enjoyed my three years studying Fashion Retail Management but now the scary part in my life begins, where I find a job and begin my career! It is vital that I keep up to date with new trends and styles so I am aware of the latest looks, have a strong awareness of the upcoming trends, and am commercially aware. Here are some of the upcoming Spring/ Summer 2013 trends which I am extremely excited about! I don't know about you but I think it's time to ditch the wellies and bring on the flip-flops!

 All That Shimmers
I love this trend! This look is inspired by the ocean waves, which reminds me that summer is soon to be here and I will actually be in sea enjoying the waves! This trend is seen by designers such as Burberry, Viktor & Rolf, Rochas, Giorgio Armani and Jonathan Saunders.
The look consists of jewel-coloured sequins, gorgeous fabrics and lace! I can't wait!
 Sports Luxe
With the Olympics taking over 2012, why not bring it in 2013! The sports look is seen on the catwalk from designers such as Paul Smith, Thomas Tait, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste and Richard Nicoll.
Monochrome
Just as I expected, the monochrome look will be huge in Spring Summer 2013. The high street will be jammed with stripes, checks, zigzags and geometry! Just what I love! I have black and white checked trousers at the moment, which I love and I am so pleased to know this trend will follow on in the summer. The trend is seen in designers such as Marc Jacobs, Balmain and Alexander Wang, and it is even seen at Topshop Unique. (Yay)

Cream Egg Campaign

Made In Chelsea stars Louise Thompson and Binky Felstead feature in the new Cream Egg campaign - a perfect way to market the company!

The campaign re-creates scenes from the iconic films; American Beauty and Mission Impossible! Louise recreates Mena Suvari's famous rose petal scene from American Beauty - however instead of being buried in flowers, shes buried in Cream Eggs! I know what I'd rather be surrounded by!
In another campaign shoot, Binky and Louise recreate Mission Impossibe, where they are suspended from the ceiling in skin-tight black catsuits as they reach out for the giant egg!
Check out the campaign below!
