Throughout this year I have been writing my dissertation on the influence that celebrities have on the general public and the impact fashion has when seen on TV. So I am always interested in seeing how garments & accessories can sell out in just hours after being worn or endorsed by a celebrity. It is no surprise that Rihanna's new lipstick for Mac sold out just three hours after going on sale for the first time. The power of social media really can have an influence and this is proven as Rihanna told her Twitter followers that the deep red lipstick was available to buy and then shortly afterwards tweeted #SOLDOUT!
